NORMAL, Ill.- The Illinois State women’s soccer team, the defending Missouri Valley Conference regular season champions, has its 2008 schedule set. Head coach Drew Roff enters his second season with the Redbirds with a 19-game slate that features 13 non-conference matches and eight home games.

NORMAL, Ill.- Illinois State head women’s soccer coach Drew Roff has finalized his schedule for the spring of 2008, his second spring season with the Redbirds. ISU will play nine games this spring against teams from throughout the Midwest, including a four-team round robin day of competition at Adelaide Street Field at the end of April.

NORMAL, Ill.- Illinois State’s women’s team has added seven new recruits for the upcoming season, marking the first full recruiting class for second year coach Drew Roff. The Class of 2011 consists of forwards Jess Carlson and Mary Sahm, midfielder Natalie McCabe, backs Afton Delvecchio and Emily Fiddy, back/forward Alex Howell and goalkeeper Sasha Reiber.

Dec. 20, 2007 HONOR FOR NORTHOVER ISU Midfielder
NORMAL, Ill.- Senior Yvonne Northover, Illinois State midfielder, was named a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Third-Team All-Great Lakes Region selection. It was the first such honor of Northover’s career and the first award for a Redbird in three years. She was the only Missouri Valley Conference player selected to any team.
Nov. 16, 2007 SCHOLAR-ATHLETES Three Illinois State Women Honored
NORMAL, Ill.- Three members of the Illinois State women’s soccer team were named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete team Friday, Nov. 16. Senior forward Bethany Russ and sophomore midfielder Raquel Rattray were both first-team selections, while junior forward Mel Routledge received an honorable mention recognition.

EVANSVILLE, Ind.- The final of the 2007 Missouri Valley Conference Women’s Soccer Championship came down to the wire and in the end No. 3 Creighton upset No. 1 Illinois State in penalty kicks, 4-3, on Sunday, Nov. 11. Creighton claimed its third title in the last four years to advance to the NCAA Tournament.

Nov. 8, 2007 AWARDING THE REDBIRDS Illinois State Women's Team Honored
EVANSVILLE, Ind.- The Illinois State women’s soccer team was presented with the regular season championship trophy at the 2007 State Farm MVC Women’s Soccer Championship Banquet on Thursday, Nov. 8, but they also took home some more hardware at the event. Senior midfielder Yvonne Northover was named the Valley Player of the Year and a first-team all-conference selection. Illinois State was also the recipient of the Valley Coaching Staff of the Year award and had six other players receive all-conference recognition.

NORMAL, Ill.-Senior midfielder Yvonne Northover was named the Brine Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week for Oct. 29 after netting the game-winning goal against Drake that clinched the MVC regular season title for Illinois State.
Oct. 28, 2007 WINNING A TITLE Illinois State Tops Drake 2-1, Becomes MVC Regular Season Champion
NORMAL, Ill. - For the first time since 2003, the Illinois State women's soccer team is the Missouri Valley Conference regular season champion. The Redbirds (8-4-3, 4-0-2 MVC) clinched the title with a 2-1 win over Drake (6-9-2, 3-3-0 MVC) on Sunday, Oct 28; their first-ever victory over the Bulldogs in eight all-time meetings.
