OMAHA, NEB. – Illinois State defender Danielle Mutters has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight year. The Red Birds will also honored with the league’s Fair Play award, and coach Dree Roff and his staff where honored with the Coaching Staff of the Year Award.

NORMAL, Ill. - After two early first-half goals by Jessica Carlson and Alyssa Schulz, Illinois State clinched the 2009 Missouri Valley Conference Regular-Season Championship for the third-straight year after shutting out Drake, 2-0,on Sunday. The Redbirds have won the conference seven times in program history.

Redbirds win another, 4-0
NORMAL, Ill—Rachel Bostick and Amy Carlson each had a goal and an assist as Illinois State rolled over Evansville 4-0 at Adelaide St. Field on Sunday afternoon. The win was the seventh straight for the Redbirds, and their second consecutive conference shutout as they won their fourth straight in the Missouri Valley Conference.

Illinois State moved to first place in the Missouri Valley Conference after besting Creighton, 2-1, Sunday at Adelaide Street Field to win five-straight games. Redbird senior Raquel Rattray was honored as the 2009 Heidecke Tribute Award recipient after the game.
