IU signs Moss from IMG Academy
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Defender Ambry Moss, who has spent the last three years at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. Has signed a National Letter of Intent to play soccer at Indiana and will join the program this fall.
Moss’ signing brings the 2010 IU recruiting class to 10, joining Kerel Bradford, Ryan Bristol, Jacob Bushue, Nikita Kotlov, Dylan Lax, Matthew McKain, Harrison Petts, Taylor Reeves and Blake Wise.
“We are very excited Ambry is joining our soccer program,” first year Indiana Head Coach Todd Yeagley said. “Ambry will bring athleticism, toughness, and communication skills to our backline. He has a wonderful personality and is a natural leader. Ambry has worked with an outstanding group of coaches down at the IMG Academy. Our staff anticipates Ambry having an immediate impact next fall.”
A native of Providence, Bahamas, Moss graduated from Pendleton School. While at IMG Moss helped lead the squad to a third-place finish at the U-18 Development Academy National Championship in July 2009. During his time in Florida he has been named the Most Improved Player and Defensive Player of the Year at IMG. He is currently playing with the IMG Bradenton Academics of the Premier Development League.
Prior to IMG, Moss attended Lyford Cay International School where he earned Most Valuable Player honors. Moss has worked his way through the Bahamian National Team ranks, competing with the U-17 and U-20 squads. He earned a call-up to the full national team as it took part in 2010 World Cup qualifying.
Moss was a competitive swimmer from ages 9-12, and was a member of the Bahamian U-19 cricket team.
