Minos Vlamakis, who has served as a volunteer assistant coach for the UIC since 2007, has been promoted to the position of full-time assistant coach.
SLATE SET UIC Flames unveil 2010 schedule

Sean Phillips has been named the head soccer coach at the University of Illinois-Chicago, replacing John Trask who took the head coaching job at Wisconsin last month. Phillips has been the top assistant at UIC since 2005. He becomes the fifth coach in the program’s history.

November 11, 2009 PENALIZED UIC drops PK result in HL play
CLEVELAND, Ohio- The UIC men's soccer team had used penalty kick shootouts to advance in postseason play at least once in each of the last three seasons.
But the Flames were unable to accomplish such a feat in a fourth consecutive campaign after falling in a four-round penalty kick session to host Cleveland State in the quarterfinals of the 2009 Horizon League Championship at Krenzler Field on Tuesday night.
