Wave hold off KiXX comeback


MILWAUKEE---Tom Oatley scored two goals to help the Milwaukee Wave to a 12-10 win over the Philadelphia KiXX, their eighth straight, Saturday night at the U.S. Cellular Arena.

Milwaukee jumped out to a 6-0 lead on first quarter goals by Kyt Selaidopoulos and Ian Bennet and a second quarter tally by Oatley.

Ptah Myers scored the first of his three goals for the KiXX, on a power play at 8:16 of the second, but Milwaukee’s Kyle Lance closed out the first half scoring at 11:01, giving the Wave (14-6) an 8-2 lead.

The KiXX cut the deficit to 8-6 in the third quarter on goals by Kevin Coleman and Semir Mesanovic, but Oatley and Marcello Fontana responded for the Wave to give them a 12-6 lead at the end of the third.

Myers kept the KiXX in the game with a pair of power play goals in the fourth quarter.
The KiXX fell to 7-12.
