TAMPA---Cristiane and Brittany Klein each scored as the Chicago Red Stars defeated the University of South Florida Bulls in a preseason exhibition on Wednesday.

Cristiane scored in the 41st minute and Klein found the back of the net in the 60th minute.

"Compared to our last game, we had much better possession of the ball," Red Stars Head Coach Emma Hayes said. "It took us a little bit of time to find rhythm and create chances. But in the second half we moved the ball really well."

Wednesday's game also marked the preseason debuts of forward Kosovare Asllani of Sweden and midfielder Katie Chapman of England.

"It was great. They brought some different dimensions into the game and I was really happy with
their performances," Hayes said. "Our internationals made a positive impact."

The Red Stars' preseason schedule continues with a match against the University of Notre Dame at 5 p.m. CT Wednesday, March 24, in South Bend, Ind.
