Eclipse Select to face FC Wisconsin Eclipse
This weekend marks a first for the Eclipse Select Soccer Club as its Illinois-based teams head up to Milwaukee to take on sister club FC Wisconsin Eclipse -- a newly founded Eclipse Select branch of teams headed by its director of coaching Christian Lavers.
The launch of FC Wisconsin Eclipse earlier this year marked Eclipse Select Soccer Club's first expansion north of the border. Eclipse Select's U-14 through U-18 teams all will face one another on Sunday afternoon and evening.
Four of Eclipse Select's ECNL teams lead the Midwest Conference in points heading into the weekend, led by the U-18 ECNL team, which is a perfect 4-0-0 and is the only unbeaten team in its age group in conference play.
The Eclipse Select U-16 ECNL team is tied atop the Midwest Conference with the Michigan Hawks at 3-0-0. FC Wisconsin Eclipse is 1-0-1 at this age group.
The Eclipse Select U-15 ECNL squad leads the conference with seven points at 2-1-1, but plenty of teams are on Eclipse's heels, including FC Wisconsin Eclipse at 1-0-1 and four points. The Eclipse Select U-14s have nine points (3-0-1) to match the Michigan Hawks (3-0-0, 9 points) to lead the Midwest Conference.
In the Midwest Regional League, t he Eclipse Select U-16 USYSA team puts its perfect 5-0-0 record on the line when it faces NSA Premier Jaguars in Midwest Regional League action on Friday night at Nike Park in Naperville, Ill. Eclipse Select is atop the Girls U-16 Premier Division with 15 points. Also on tap this weekend, the U-14 USYSA team faces Sockers Wisconsin on Saturday in Oak Brook.
